II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) in Kigoma, Procurement and Logistics Officer and the direct supervision of the Logistics and Procurement Assistant-Fleet Manager, the incumbent will ensure the safe driving for IOM staff and guests as described in the section III below.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Drive IOM official vehicles, including buses, for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
• Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.;
• Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s), checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.;
• Perform minor repairs and arranges other vehicle during the repairs and ensures that the vehicles are kept clean;
• Assist in monitoring the regular maintenance schedule of all vehicles in Kigoma, Kasulu, Makere and Kibondo offices including IOM busses. Inform Procurement and Logistics Assistant-Fleet Assistant, if any repairs needed;
• When necessary, identifies and recommends competent service providers to Logistics/Procurement Unit;
• Conduct periodic visits of all offices and check IOM vehicles with their overall conditions, maintenance status and log books and report/update the maintenance schedule accordingly;
• Identify locally available maintenance materials/spares; check for quality and 2 quantity; negotiate price and facilitate procurement in close consultation with Logistics/Procurement Unit;
• Closely monitor the material/spares delivery at store. Report to the supervisor well advance of the material/spares stock finishes so that work does not stop.;
• Report to the supervisor immediately if there is any discrepancy on material/spares at store;
• Advise the supervisor for the approval and thus final payment to the garage if maintenance has been done externally;
• Any other duty within the incumbent’s capabilities as assigned by the CoM, HoSO and the Logistics/Procurement Unit.

V.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Primary education in vehicle mechanic.
• Must possess a valid Driver's license to drive a bus, knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
• Skills in minor vehicle repair and good experience in office maintenance.
• Two years' work experience as a mechanic and driver; safe driving record.
• Professional experience in driving 4x4 V8 and hardtop vehicles
